The Erode Arts & Science College NCC Unit has an army infantry wing of 6/15 'D' company attached with 15 Tamilnadu Battalion NCC. In the year 1981 the NCC was started in our college to Develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the College.

NCC Training

NCC cadets training is constantly updated to keep pace with the recent developments in defense educational systems and main topics covered in the training are drill, weapon training and certificate exams. This year NCC syllabus has been changed to cater the needs of the modern state of art. A cadet must undergo 15 parades of 4 hour’s duration in every year to fulfill the training requirement.

Regular camp activities

Combined Annual Training camp

10 days CATC camp was organized by our battalion at Kandasamy College, Velur from 23.05.2016 to 01.06.2016. 20 SD and 10 SW cadets from our college participated in the camp.

10 days CATC camp was organized by our battalion at Kandasamy College, Velur from 05.06.2016 to 14.06.2016. 14 SD and 08 SW cadets from our college participated in the camp.

SPEACIAL CAMPS

Basic Leadership Camp (BLC)

Basic Leadership Camp (BLC) is a prestigious camp in NCC and it is an State level camp, cadet R.Kavinesh from our college participated in the camp from 09.07.2016 to 18.07.2016 at Karpagam Institute of Technology, Coimbatore.

National level Trekking Camp

National level Trekking Camp was conducted at Malayathoor, Kerala from 24.12.2016 to 31.12.2016. 8 cadets from our college participated in the camp.

Army Attachment Camp (AAC)

Army Attachment Camp (AAC) is a prestigious camp in NCC and it is an National level camp, were NCC cadets and the Army persons do the training together. 5 cadets from our college participated in the camp from 01.02.2017 to 15.02.2017 at Hyderabad.

Tal Sainik camp (TSC)

  • Tal Sainik Camp is the most prestigious camp in NCC. A cadet must undergo series of camp to get selected in Delhi TSC camp.
  • 03 SD cadets and 01 SW cadet participated in the 10 days TSC training camp at at Kandasamy College, Velur from 05.06.2016 to 14.06.2016.
  • SW cadet K.Rahmath nisha begam participated in the TSC- Training camp conducted at Kalaignar Karunanithi Institute of Technology, Coimbatore from 18.06.16 TO 27.06.2016.
  • SW cadet K.Rahmath nisha begam participated in the TSC- PRE IGC camp conducted at PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, from 01.07.2016 to 10.07.2016.
  • SW cadet K.Rahmath nisha begam participated in the TSC- IGC camp conducted at James College of Engineering and Technology, Nagercoil, from 13.07.2016 to 22.07.2016.

Republic day camp (RDC)

  • Republic Day Camp is the most prestigious camp in NCC. A cadet must undergo series of camp to get selected in Delhi RDC camp.
  • 04 SD and 03 SW cadets participated in the RDC selection camp at Kalaignar Karunanithi Institute of Technology, Coimbatore from 18.06.16 TO 27.06.2016.
  • 04 SD and 03 SW cadets participated in the RDC selection camp at Karpagam University, Coimbatore from 09.07.16 TO 18.07.2016.
  • 04 SD and 03 SW cadets participated in the RDC selection camp at Thiyagi N.Ramasamy Memorial HSS School, Coimbatore from 20.08.16 TO 29.08.2016.
  • 02 SD cadets J.Surya, M.Vijayakumar and 01 SW cadet S.Mounika participated from our college in the RDC –IGC camp conducted at Boiler Plant Hr.Sec School, Trichy from 25.09.16 TO 04.10.2016.

CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS

‘C’ certificate Examinations

‘C’ certificate Examination for this year was held at Vellalar College for Women, Erode on 25th and 26th March 2016. 09 SD and 05 SW cadets participated from our college.

‘B’ certificate Examinations

‘B’ certificate Examination for this year was held at Chikkiah Naicker College, Erode on 18th and 19th February 2016. 09 SD and 06 SW cadets participated from our college.

Republic day parade at V.O.C Park, Erode

This year 20 cadets from our college allotted to participate in the Republic Day Parade at V.O.C Park, Erode on 26.01.2017. Our 20 cadets gone in a march and saluted the National flag.

Social Service Activities

International Youth Day

“International Youth Day – 2016” was organized by National Cadet Corps Unit of Erode Arts and Science College Erode, Chikkiah Naicker College Erode, Vellalar College for Women Erode and Kongu Arts and Science College Erode on 12.08.2016 (Friday) at 07.00 a.m. College campus cleaning was taken as the theme and done by the cadets. The chief guest was Dr.G.Udhayakumar, Principal, Chikkiah Naicker College, Erode. In this event a place to be cleaned was taken in to account and cleaned by NCC cadets.

Swachh Pakwada

“Swachh Pakhwada – 2016” (Taking Swachh pledge) was organized by National Cadet Corps Unit of Erode Arts and Science College Erode, Chikkiah Naicker College Erode, Vellalar College for Women Erode and Kongu Arts and Science College Erode on 12.08.2016 (Friday) at 09.00 a.m. Taking Swachh Pledge is taken as the theme and done by the cadets. In this event the pledge was taken by the 100 NCC cadets.

Water Conservation Rally

“Water Conservation Awareness Rally” was organized by National Cadet Corps Unit of Erode Arts and Science College, Erode on 12.09.2016 (Monday) at 10.30 a.m. The Rally started from P.S.Park, Erode and ended at Government Hospital, Erode. The Rally was started by the chief guest Dr.R.Venkatachalam, Principal, Erode Arts and Science College, Erode. Jc.M.Tamilselvan, Zone Director Management, JCI India Zone XVII was the guest of honor. In this rally 70 NCC cadets of Erode Arts and Science College participated. Placards insisting the awareness of Water Conservation were carried by the NCC cadets. Wordings indicating the need of water saving and water conservation was shouted by the NCC cadets to give awareness to the public.

Fixing Black head light stickers to vehicles

“Fixing black head light stickers to vehicles” event was organized by National Cadet Corps Unit of Erode Arts and Science College, Erode on 12.09.2016 (Monday) at 11.30 a.m. The event was started by the chief guest Mr.K.Kodiselvan, Inspector of Police, Traffic Division, Erode. JCI.Sen.R.S.Prabhu, Past Zone President of JCI India Zone XVII was the guest of honor. In this event 70 NCC cadets of Erode Arts and Science College participated. Round black colour head light stickers were pasted by NCC cadets on the cars and two wheelers on the road side of the G.H.

Peace is Possible Awareness Rally

“Peace is Possible Awareness Rally” was organized by National Cadet Corps Unit of Erode Arts and Science College, Erode on 15.09.2016 (Thursday) at 10.00 a.m. The Rally started from Erode Arts and Science College, Erode and ended at Government ITI, Erode. The Rally was started by the chief guest ‘Sadhanai Semmal’ Thiru K.K.BALUSAMY, Secretary and Correspondent, Erode Arts and Science College, Erode. Thiru U.N.MURUGESAN, President, The Mudaliar Educational Trust was the guest of honor. In this rally 70 NCC cadets of Erode Arts and Science College participated. Placards insisting the awareness of Peace were carried by the NCC cadets.

Mega Blood Donation Camp

“Mega Blood Donation Camp” was jointly organized by National Cadet Corps Units of Chikkiah Naicker College Erode, Vellalar College for Women Erode and Erode Arts and Science College, Erode on 17.09.2016 (Saturday) at 10.00 a.m. The chief guest was Dr.G.Udhayakumar, Principal, Chikkiah Naicker College, Erode and Dr.D.Kamalaveni, Principal, Vellalar College for Women, Erode was the guest of honor. In this event totally 81 NCC cadets of Chikkiah Naicker College, Vellalar College for Women and Erode Arts and Science College of 27 cadets of each college donated the blood.

Tree Plantation

“Tree Plantation” was organized by National Cadet Corps Unit of Erode Arts and Science College, Erode on 24.09.2016 (Saturday) at 07.00 a.m. Planting tree sapplings was taken as the theme and done by the cadets. The chief guest was Prof P.M.Selvaraju, Dean of Science, Erode Arts and Science College, Erode. In this event totally 30 plant saplings were planted by NCC cadets of Erode Arts and Science College, Erode.

Swachh Bharath Abhiyaan

“Swachh Bharath Abhiyan – 2016” was organized by National Cadet Corps Unit of Erode Arts and Science College, Erode on 28.09.2016 (Wednesday) at 07.00 a.m. College campus cleaning was taken as the theme and done by the cadets. The chief guest was Mr.K.Mohan, NSS Programme officer, Erode Arts and Science College, Erode. In this event a place to be cleaned was taken in to account and cleaned by NCC cadets of Erode Arts and Science College, Erode participated and cleaned the area. 70 NCC Cadets of Erode Arts and Science College, Erode has participated in the event.

Awareness to public on Free legal services

Awareness programme on “Free Legal services to public” was organized by National Cadet Corps Unit of Erode Arts and Science College, Erode on 02.11.2016 (Wednesday) at 9.30 a.m. The Programme was presided over by Dr.P.Sivasubramanian, Principal(i/c), Erode Arts and Science College, Erode. Justice Ms. G.Bhuvaneswari, First division judge, Erode District and Secretary of District legal services authority, Erode was the chief guest. Pamphlets insisting the awareness of free legal services done the authority were distributed by the NCC cadets to the public. NCC cadets distributed nearly 400 pamphlets to the public.

“Distribution of pamphlets on awareness on e-payments” was organized by National Cadet Corps Unit of Erode Arts and Science College, Erode on 12.01.2017 (Thursday) at 10.30 a.m. The event was started by Dr.R.Venkatachalam, Principal, Erode Arts and Science College, Erode and Capt.L.Manivannan, Past NCC officer, Erode Arts and Science College, Erode. In this event 70 NCC cadets of Erode Arts and Science College participated. Pamphlets creating the awareness on “Types of e-payments” were distributed by NCC cadets to the individuals and shop keepers.

Extra training to Cadets

NCC cadets talent search competition

One day “NCC CADETS TALENT SEARCH COMPETITON” was conducted to our cadets on 15.09.2015 in Foot Drill, Weapon Drill and Obstacles course. The winners of the each event were awarded with trophies and medals. The event was inaugurated by Thiru.K.Chezhian, Managing Partner, AWA Marketing, Erode and distributed the prizes. This event was sponsored by JCI Erode Metro.

NCC cadets awareness programme on JOBS IN ARMY

NCC Cadets awareness programme on ‘JOBS IN ARMY’ was jointly organized by National Cadet Corps Unit of Erode Arts and Science College, Erode and District Employment office, Erode on 22.12.2016 (Thursday) at 11.00 a.m. The Programme was presided over by Dr.R.Venkatachalam, Principal, Erode Arts and Science College, Erode. Thiru.K.Vasudevan, District Employment officer, Erode was the chief guest. This programme was conducted to motivate the NCC cadets and to know about the job vacancies in army specially for the NCC cadets and how can they join the army through NCC special entry scheme.
