The following scholarship facilities are available for students.
GOVERNMENT OF INDIA SCHOLARSHIP
Students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are eligible to apply for the award of scholarship.
BACKWARD CLASS WELFARE STATE SCHOLARSHIP
Students belonging to Backward classes can apply for the award of scholarship if the annual income of their parents does not exceed Rs. 50,00/-.
NATIONAL LOAN SCHOLARSHIP
Those students who have secured 50% and above in aggregate in Higher Secondary Examination (or) equivalent can apply for the award of National Loan Scholarship. First preference will be given only those who have secured 60% and above. Only minimum numbers of forms are sent by the director of collegiate education every year.
HARIJAN WELFARE SHOLARSHIP UNDER STATE SCHEME
Those students who belong to A.D. converts are eligible to apply for the Harijan State Scholarship. The annual income of the parents should not exceed Rs. 60,000/-.
SCHOLARSHIPS TO PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED STUDENTS
Prescribed form of application can be had from the Director of Social welfare, 485-Anna Salai, Nandanam, Madras-35 on requisition with self addressed envelope. The Director will publish the notification in “THE HINDU” every uear.
SCHOLARSHIP TO THE CHILDREN OF DEFENCE SERVICE PERSONNEL
Those students who are the sons of Defence Service Personnel can apply for full fee concession. Application forms for scholarship will be distributed to them soon after applications are called for by the director.
SCHOLARSHIP TO THE CHILDREN OF EX-SERVICEMAN
Sons of Ex-serviceman in the college are requested to contact the D.S.S.Board Office for the supply of application forms and other details.
HARIJAN WELFARE LOAN SCHOLARSHIP
Those Scheduled Caste students who are staying in recognized hostel can apply for the Harijan Welfare Loan Scholarship. They are requested to contact the Director of Harijan and Tribal Welfare, Chennai-5 for the requisite form of application.
Those Students who belong to Backward class and whose parent’s annual income does not exceed Rs. 15,000/- from all sources are eligible to enjoy Full / Half / Fee concession.
Prescribed form of application can be had from the college office. Schedule caste/ Schedule Tribe students need not submit any applications for fee concession. Nevertheless they should produce community certificate duly issued by the Authorities of the Revenue Department.
